This documentary publication examines two interrelated installations by the artist Moritz Stumm, which are formally dominated by light & shadows and black & white. The contrasts in brightness create afterimages; perception of spatiality and materiality is distorted by the visual picture-puzzle effect. The large-format portfolio concept was derived from these formal characteristics.
The cover pages for the two parts of the project resulted from a typo/photographic experiment: printed headlines were photographed with a long exposure while the camera moved away from the subject.
