Atelier Florian Markl conceives, designs and executes visual identities and graphic representations for institutions, events, brands and products. The expertise includes analogue and digital media, linear and interactive formats and mastery of two-dimensional and spatial environments.

Based in Berlin, Atelier Florian Markl works for regional, national and international customers. Reference clients include large and small companies, agencies and design firms, cultural and educational institutions, artists and publishers.

Florian Markl colaborates with experienced partners in the fields of architecture, interior design, marketing, moving images, object and model construction, photography, product design, software and web development and 3D visualization.

Florian Markl studied product design and visual communication at the Offenbach University of Art and Design. He graduated in 2007 as a qualified designer concentrating in Language and Aesthetics with Professor Burghart Schmidt as well as Experimental Spatial Concepts with Professor Heiner Blum.

Parallel to his studies, he worked as an assistant to the artist Tobias Rehberger for several years and also as a freelancer for various creative and design agencies in Germany and abroad, including stiletto in New York City.

Since the early 1990s, he has intensively examined graffiti writing in theory and practice and has been a longtime member of several internationally relevant New York writing groups.

Florian Markl’s diverse repertoire of authentic, individual stylistic devices and modes of expression result from longstanding visual research.

His works have received prestigious awards from the Art Directors Club, among others. He has also been a recipient of the Red Dot Design Award.

Florian Markl’s visual and textual contributions have appeared in a range of specialist publications, including design books, exhibition catalogs and art and design journals.

His work has been exhibited at the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen, Museum Angewandte Kunst in Frankfurt, and the ZKM Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe.
